How to Wow Your Guests with Wedding Floral Installations
If you’re the kind of couple who wants to treat your guests to the ultimate ‘WOW factor’ at your wedding, we can’t over-stress the importance of floral installations!
Floral installations come in all shapes, styles and sizes – which means they offer the pinnacle of customization and serve as an excellent way to transform your wedding into a statement of your personal style and your love story.
Instead of stringing out your flowers (and your floral budget) all over your venue, we strongly recommend selecting one or two areas of your wedding ceremony or reception venue to really invest in creating show-stopping florals!
Let’s walk though some of our favorite floral installations and structural categories to get your creative juices flowing and help you start dreaming about all the fantastic ways we can help take your wedding flowers to the next level.

Hanging Floral Installations
If you really want to add a fantastic, whimsical element, consider including a hanging floral installation over your reception tables. This adds the ultimate “wow factor” for your guests and really works to elevate the empty space in those large reception halls.
We can hang them from the ceiling using metal structures in our collection called ovation hangers or from one of the ground-based arches in our steel collection. We can also work with tents or structures provided by the venue and we love to go SUPER custom based on the space.
Hanging floral installations work best in venues with higher ceilings and they can be the perfect solution to alleviate over-crowded tables. If you’re having a family-style dinner, it can be tricky to fit in lovely centerpieces among the serving dishes, napkins, chargers, place names ect. and allow them room to breathe.
Getting those lush florals up in the air allows the entire room to enjoy a stunning floating centerpiece that will leave your guests speechless – not to mention adding a huge impact in your photos!

Some venues offer large structures we can attach florals to and transform your space. This white picture frame at the St. Vrain in Longmont, Colorado was a great example of using flowers to soften the industrial brick wall background with a unique floral moment. The couple used the backdrop for their wedding ceremony and then it easily become the backdrop for the bar during their reception.
If your venue doesn’t have high ceilings making it tough to accomplish a hanging installation, we can pivot and create something stunning that builds and vines out of the ground!
Elevated Tablescapes
Choosing an elevated tablescape keeps the flowers supported by your tables but our signature Harlow stands help them soar over the food and guests. Your guests are able to converse in a hanging garden of flowers that will leave a strong botanical impression.
This option is another great way to have an impact in your photos since flat or low lying centerpieces aren’t as noticeable in photographs. Harlow stands are a better option with a full service dinner or buffet and don’t work as well with family style dining.

Floral Table Runner
Another option for stunning reception tables is a floral runner that appears to be growing out of the center of the table. This works very well on larger tables since runners are typically 1-2 feet wide and they help keep the tables from looking too sparse. Just be sure there will be enough room for all of your flatware and places settings.
Single flowers in bud vases scattered down your table does NOT create an overall visual impact. Floral table runners ensure that all of your guests have a beautiful view and it creates a lush garden theme for your reception.
Aisle Runner
Continuing the theme of runners, one of our favorite things to design are floral aisle runners for your ceremony site.
These can be as lush as you can imagine them and really transform your ceremony space into something out of a garden fairy tale!
We love the look of the arrangements ‘growing’ out of the ground which allows the aisle to draw your eye down to the ceremony arch or chuppah.
Don’t worry – we always make sure to leave enough space for the wedding party to make it down the aisle!

Aisle Statement Pieces
If a full aisle floral runner isn’t in your vision or budget, consider adding two super lush arrangements at the beginning of the aisle.
These will help carry the floral theme down the aisle from the ceremony arch and they create an inviting floral moment when your guests enter the ceremony area.
Deconstructed Arch
The flowers at your ceremony site are arguably the most important for overall impact and are featured in the majority of your wedding photos.
We are passionate about creating lush and stunning ceremony floral installations and deconstructed arches work perfectly for this!
Using our metal structures, we can make two lush pillars up to 9ft tall that gently arch towards each other. Best of all, they won’t be lost among all the guest chairs and will be visible in ALL of your photographs.

You can also think out side of the ceremony box and choose to have deconstructed floral pillars in other places around your venue. Whether it’s in front of a fireplace or outside the entrance to your reception, deconstructed arch pillars are sure to make a floral impact. And don’t be surprised if all your guests stop to take selfies in front of them!

Grounded Crescent Arch
Another stunning option for your ceremony site is a grounded crescent arch. Think of it as a giant floral hug surrounding you and the love of your life while you exchange your vows.
Grounded crescent arches blend very well in natural landscapes – it’s a horizontal design just like that gorgeous field or mountain scape backdrop in all your photographs.

Cake Meadow
One floral installation we are absolutely obsessed with is building a stunning meadow of flowers to surround your cake!
This floral moment is way more artful and impactful than simply placing your cake out and, due to it’s compact size, it’s also easy on the budget! We also offer a modified meadow runner through various desserts if you’re not sold on having a single cake.

Making it Count
Floral installations are hands-down the best way to make a lush statement at your wedding. They provide a more refined and structural design aesthetic while treating your guests to something they have never seen before! When you’re planning your floral vision (which we would love to help with!) it’s best to think about WHERE you want your great photos to be and to prioritize based on that. If your budget seems stretched a bit thin, go with something super simple on your tables and redirect your budget towards your bridal bouquet, ceremony and a reception installation that will pull focus and have your guests raving.
We also recommend NOT transferring your wilted ceremony flowers and trying to reuse them since they’ve already spent hours baking in the sun. By opting for even a single, large installation in your reception, you’ll create so much more impact and cut down on the chaos and potential damage of flipping flowers from one space to another.
The Wild Blossoms team specializes in designing stunning custom installations based on your venue that are built to accent and enhance the space and leave your guests talking about your wedding all year! We would love to be with you through every step of the planning process – or take it off your hands entirely and free you up to enjoy a stress-free process.
